Activity:
“Jumping Facts”
The class warms-up by doing jumping jacks while skip-counting by 2.  Students clap on every jumping jack of a multiple of 2.  (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24)
Next the teacher pulls a card from a deck of 0, 1 and 2 math facts.  The students do the number of jumping jacks that match the card.  This works best with multiplying by 2, so that the number of jumping jacks does not get too high.

Take a Mindful Minute:
Students are asked to sit back in their seats for a “Mindful Minute”.
“Feet are flat on the floor, backs are straight, hands are still in our laps. We will now take five nice slow breaths while watching the breathing ball.  Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.”
